This particular type of service that is offered by the existing telephone companies to take advantage of their already in place logistical resources is only available within a particular radius of the phone company's main office in any area. But using a telephone service over the Web using either DSL or broadband cable services will get many standard services only viewed as options on the POTS menu of telephone services. It can probably be said with some certainty that in the future, both the quality issues and the issue of 911 calls will be solved permanently for IP telephony customers. Until that time, consumers must be forewarned.

If total calling minutes are under five hundred, plans can be as low as fifteen dollars with some providers.
