There is nothing new about stress. We may talk a lot about it now but it has always existed in both humans and animals. Stress is the reaction that causes us the 'Fight Or Flight' feeling that all animals experience when danger threatens.
It is a protection mechanism that says - Do Something. The body fills with chemicals to help us run or fight so when we are in our cars getting stressed about the traffic we have all these feelings but no way to use the energy and addrenalin being pumped throughout our bodies and this is part of the reason stress becomes a problem in modern life.
We all have complicated lives these days and while technology has brought great benefits it has also led us to a place where we don't feel in control of our daily life. Our employer controls our income and we may worry that it could disappear at any time. The banks and the credit cards control our finances and can affect our financial situation at a stroke.
The problems of stress can be a factor in other health problems that appear because we are suffering stress. Constant and consistent stress may take a toll on your body and mind and leave you weakened by the drain on your energy reserves. The effects of stress can affect your health and should be reduced where possible.
Stressed people are not usually at their best so it is in your interests to take a break and let yourself recuperate. Take a vacation and forget about your problems for a week or two. Relax and chill out. That is after all why vacations were invented.
If your stress is caused by financial or family problems you, and they, will probably just get worse if you ignore them. In most cases ignoring stressful problems leads to further problems and greater stress further down the line. If you need help to deal with specific problems consult a qualified professional person and get some advice.
We don't choose to make our lives difficult but we do have to deal with jobs we may not like, disappointing relationships and family problems. Our financial situations are often less secure and comfotable than we would like. All these factors play a part in the stress we have to deal with every day of our lives.
