My favorite thing when it comes to infrared saunas is the fact that I can stay in the sauna for thirty minutes or so and be able to breathe. I have a mild case of claustrophobia and as a consequence I can kind of panic a little if I feel I am having trouble breathing,. As a result of this a traditional sauna can be tough for me,
There is no question that both saunas have their advantages and it is also a fact that some people like the extreme heat, in many sweating lodges for example when confronted with this heat it can have some meditational qualities, however for me it just becomes unbearable.
The biggest part of the health benefits offered by a sauna is that it makes you sweat, which helps your body to eliminate toxins through the skin - your largest organ. A good sweat helps keep your skin soft and supple.
Additionally you get to sweat out toxins which are bad for you. Just as you take care of the outer body you also need to take care of the inner body.
Infrared saunas work a little bit differently - they use infrared rays which penetrate deep into your body, which gives you a more thorough cleanse.
The first time I tried an infrared sauna, I didn't think anything was happening - until fifteen minutes into it when I was suddenly drenched in sweat; it was nothing less than amazing!
Afterwards I felt great especially after a nice lukewarm shower. In conclusion saunas provide many health benefits and it basically boils down to what you are most comfortable using, when you are comfortable using it you will use it frequently and as a consequence simply get the best results.
And the health benefit is what you want a sauna for after all, that and the deep relaxation they provide you.
