Trim your Tummy in Ten Easy ways!

Most mommies have enough to worry about with a newborn that they often forget about their own health. Then one day they look in the mirror and are startled to be looking at someone they don't even recognize. So, how can you start reclaiming your health and lose the tummy? Moms, here are the top ten ways to trim your tummy and get back on the track to health and fitness.

1. Eat: A lot of new Moms are always feeding their baby but never themselves. Remember to eat through the day - starving yourself or skipping meals will just slow down your metabolism. Little snacks aren't bad as long as they are healthy like some baby carrots, apple slices or even a handful of almonds.

2. Nap time: It can be hard to get a good nights rest with a newborn. The key is to take naps when your baby does because getting some extra shuteye will help those muscles rest and your body can take a break.

3. Walk away the Pounds: Trim your tummy just by walking around the block. If you are intimidated by a hard cardio routine at first, then just start by incorporating walking into your schedule. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or go for a power walk with friends instead of being a couch potato.

4. Pump it up: Lots of women dismiss the use of weights as a form of exercise with the misconception that they will bulk up with unwanted muscles. But the reality is that women who have a weight routine burn fat faster. Free weights at home can get you toning those thighs and losing the pregnancy weight faster.

5. The Ball Factor: Getting an exercise ball will help trim your tummy. Crunches on the Ball or squats against the wall will help tone those abs and legs. An exercise ball is the perfect way to use balance to lose the pregnancy weight.

6. Cut the Coffee: Ok you don't have to ditch the cocoa bean all together but be aware of those fatty Frappacinos and calorie-ridden Cappuccinos. Just because you are drinking something doesn't mean it isn't like having a fat full meal worth of calories. Try drinking herbals teas such as green tea or taking your lattes with skim milk.

7. Water the Liquid of Life: It's essential to drink just straight water in your day instead of juices and other liquids. It's important to flush the system and quench your thirst with the real deal. There are no calories in water and you can often drink up when you feel hungry because your body mistakes hunger at times for thirst.

8. Speed it up: Getting a few quick cardio sessions in throughout the day is better than those long runs that your body gets used to. Interval training with sprints, jogs and walking will keep your heart working and getting stronger. Trim your tummy by speeding up your Cardio routine.

9. Stretch it out: You don't have to go to a Pilates class seven days a week to get the benefits of stretching. Just some basic stretches in the a.m. or p.m. can help your muscles heal and get you on your way in losing the pregnancy weight faster.

10. Have fun: If you make exercising and losing the pregnancy weight a chore then you won't want to do it. Have fun with your cardio, eating and weights. Incorporate your family, involve friends and make it work within your schedule. If you do that you will burn the baby fat faster!

It can be hard to get back on the fitness horse but if you keep these ten tips in mind it will be much easier to lose the pregnancy weight. Visualizing your goal and keeping your focus will help you cross that finish line twice as fast.
