Cayman Island Travel

Cayman Island travel offers a multitude of fun, sun and adventure for those interested traveling. If you are thinking about an exotic trip, there are a few things you should know. These exotic places are located about 480 miles south of Miami. They consist of three islands called Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. The group has a population of about 36,000 people, most of who live on Grand Cayman Island. They are a British Colony and the official language is English. They have their own currency but US Dollars are also accepted. The capital city of George Town is located on Grand Cayman Island.

A tropical atmosphere pervades the islands and dress is totally casual. When packing for the trip, travelers should make sure to pack a bathing suit and lots of tropical resort wear. There are no nude beaches on the Cayman Islands, and public nudity, and topless sunbathing is prohibited by law. Most hotels, stores and restaurants require a cover-up and shoes. Cayman Island travel offers beautiful white sand beaches, a crystal clear ocean and a slow casual lifestyle. The weather is warm and usually ranges from 65 degrees in February to about 90 degrees in the summer months. Plan to pack a warm shirt or jacket, as it occasionally gets cool in the evening.

There is a lot to do when you choose an exotic location for a trip. Outdoor activities abound. A wide variety of activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, horseback riding, fishing and golf are all available. There is also the famous Turtle Farm, Stingray City, Botanical Gardens and Submarine rides for the more adventurous. A tour of the islands offers a wide array of duty-free shopping as well. A tour of these islands allows the traveler to decide what appeals to them the most and plan their trip accordingly. "One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple." (Psalm 27:4)

Visitors must bring proof of citizenship and a photo ID, but Cayman Island travel does not require a passport if you are a US, British territory or Canadian citizen. Visitors from other countries must have a passport. A return ticket is also required for anyone visiting the islands. These islands have a very low crime rate, due to the excellent economy caused by tourism, but normal safety precautions are advised. Don't leave valuables unattended or in a car. Driving is on the left side of the road and seat belts are not optional. Those who choose Cayman Island travel enjoy the atmosphere and if they obey the rules and they will have a wonderful time.
