Effective acne treatment can be completed with a variety of products in order to remove unsightly blemishes. Methods to treat this problem will clear up pimples, blackheads, cysts and whiteheads by fighting bacteria and unclogging pores. Most forms of acne are the result of skin glands making too much oil and resulting in clogged pores leading to pimples. Deep pimples, such as cysts, are more likely to leave scars, especially if they are not left alone to heal. Fortunately, there are effective acne scar removal treatments and methods. The consumer can get products either over-the-counter or with a prescription. Choosing the right one, however, may be quite a task. It is important to understand the options so the consumer can make an informed decision. Along with understanding, the individual must be patient with procedures in order to find the best and most effective plan of action. "And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end" (Hebrews 6:11).
Finding the best medication will depend on the severity of the case. Mild to moderate acne can usually be treated over-the-counter. The individual can find an effective acne treatment at a local grocery or drug store. Some people may choose to use products ordered through a cosmetics catalog or online. These products are typically facial soaps, stringent pads, creams, and cleansing cloths. Most contain the ingredient benzoyl peroxide. (The individual should be certain they have no allergies to benzoyl peroxide before beginning a regular cleansing regimen.) These products require daily use and often take several weeks before real results can be seen. Most are relatively affordable and work better in combination with other treatments.
Antibiotics prescribed by a doctor may be another way to seek relief. This is especially helpful if the consumer has severe problems. Although this can be a great way to combat blemishes, some medications can have various side effects. It is vital to consult a dermatologist about the side effects to determine if the medication is appropriate for the case. If the patient chooses to go ahead with the treatment, they should record all side effects and call the dermatologist immediately if any problems are experienced. These medications are either topical or oral and require daily use. Some even require use twice per day. Antibiotics a dermatologist may prescribe include tetracycline, minocycline, erythromycin, clindamycin, and doxycycline. The doctor will determine which of these antibiotics, if any, is the most effective acne treatment for the individual.
Removing unsightly scars will depend on the severity of the scars. However, a few other factors are also considered before an effective acne scar removal method is chosen. The dermatologist will not only look at the types of scars that the patient has, but the individuals age, tolerance for medications and therapies, physical health and medical history. The individual may be too young or not healthy enough to endure more involved acne scar removal treatment methods. If the patient can't tolerate or is allergic to certain medications and pain killers, other procedures may be out of the question. The dermatologist will also want to know the individuals opinion or preferences before they decide on the best approach. That is why it is so important to understand the options when consulting a dermatologist.
When it comes to removing scars, there are a variety of choices to understand. The choices for effective acne scar removal may include autologous fat transferm, dermabrasion, laser resurfacing, collagen injections, punch grafts, and chemical peels. An autologous fat transfer is a transfer of fat from another part of your body to the blemished site. The fat is injected beneath the surface of the skin to elevate depressed scars forming crater-like areas. These tend to come from severe cases of cystic acne. For less severe cases of scarring, there is dermabrasion, which involves removing the top layers of the skin with an electrical machine that abrades the skin. As the area heals from the procedure, the surface appears smoother and newer. Rather than using an electrical machine, laser resurfacing uses high-energy light to burn away damaged skin. Laser resurfacing tends to be for small scarring as well. Collagen injections come from a type of cow collagen and are injected beneath the skin. This collagen replaces lost collagen in the scarred area. Another option for deep scars is punch grafts. The doctor punches a hole in the skin to remove the scar. A skin graft of clear skin is then transferred in place of the scarred area. Chemical peels involve placing a chemical on the skin to remove the top layer. The skin then grows back and tends to look better than before.
For someone suffering from severe breakouts or scars, there are many treatment options available and they can be quite an investment. It make take money, time, and trial and error to determine what is the most effective acne scar removal for the individual, but it is well worth the wait and the expense when the results appear. Among all of the possibilities, there is usually one good combination of methods and effective acne treatment that will do the trick. Finding a dermatologist that is well qualified and makes the patient feel comfortable will be a great way to begin to seek relief. The individual will need to communicate his or her feelings and reactions to the medications or cleansers being used so the dermatologist can understand the patients needs. Encouragement from friends and relatives, along with patience and persistence will play a major role in finding relief.
