MBA School

MBA School is one that has been designated to have the main focus of providing the opportunity for earning a Master of Business Administration degree. There are many in the United States, some as well known as the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and the Harvard Business School of Harvard University. The programs that are offered vary widely. Some programs are just what you might expect, offering degrees in finance, accounting, ethics, health care administration, and personnel management. Other MBA schools have programs that are a little different with the opportunity to earn a degree in E-Commerce, entrepreneurship, or supply chain management.

Most require the submission of GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) scores before acceptance. The GMAT is recognized as being a dependable indicator of ability for the completion of graduate studies. The GMAT scores indicate reading comprehension and critical reasoning through the verbal score, basic math ability through the quantitative score, and analytical writing through the AWA score. The acceptable GMAT score varies widely with New Mexico State University having an average GMAT of 477, to a high 707 average score at Harvard. MBA schools also vary widely in their acceptance rates.

The University of California at Berkley only accepts seventeen percent of those that apply for admission to their MBA program. On the other hand, Appalachian State University's Walker School of Business has a ninety two percent acceptance rate. However, there is a program for anyone that is interested. The cost of tuition is another variable to consider when looking at pursuing this type of education. As with all post graduate study, the tuition is costly. Texas A&M University's College of Business and Technology offers a complete MBA school program for less than twelve thousand dollars. Harvard or Wharton will cost seventy-five to eighty thousand.

If interested in attending one of the many facilities for this area of learning, they are available online through distance learning programs. Many MBA schools have offered their programs through this format in recent years. This can be a great investment in one's future, but should be considered carefully. "For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?" (Luke 14:28) God encourages us think things through, to be sure we can complete what we begin and to make sure we know what we are getting into. Pursuing acceptance by an MBA school is one area one should certainly consider well before proceeding. After all variables are weighed and pondered, attendance can be the best move for career advancement and the attainment of a life's goals.
