Sending Thanksgiving greeting cards is a popular way to express to friends and family how thankful we are for the blessings that they bring into our lives. Many send these greetings to wish the recipient a happy Thanksgiving, which is a special blessing, expressing thoughts. But, this holiday is not only a day that is a historic commemoration of the beginning of this nation, but a day that has been set apart for expressing thanks to God. So, sending Thanksgiving postcards expressing thanks for friendships, loved ones, favors, or any other reason is a perfect way to share the thankfulness in one's heart with those they are thankful for. The apostle Paul did not send fancy greetings like these per se, but he did write to the churches that he helped develop and he expressed his thankfulness for each member in many of his letters. "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making requests with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now." (Philippians 1:4-5) Paul often wrote notes of thanks and taught the disciples in the churches to do the same. "Rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18) People can learn to write their own Thanksgiving greeting cards based on much of what Paul wrote.
King David also wrote many notes, songs, and poems expressing his thankfulness to God. Great greeting cards could include a self-written sonnet expressing love and thanks to God. "Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near they wondrous works declare." (Psalm 75:1) There are many more Psalms that express David's thankful heart, and there are many Psalms that David wrote to encourage the people of Israel to thank God. Thanksgiving postcards could also encourage recipients to remember all that God has blessed in their lives. For further information about this holiday, check out these Bible resources.
There are many different types of greetings available in retail stores and department stores. There are also greetings found online with "e-cards", sent directly to a friend or loved one's email account. When looking for perfect Thanksgiving greeting cards to send to someone special, senders can shop online, buy Thanksgiving postcards from a store, or make them, expressing a heart of thanks and love. The options are many, and the occasion of giving thanks is grand. This season, don't let this day be just a celebration of the history of our country, but let this holiday be a day to give friends and loved ones true heartfelt thanks.
