An automobile to charity can be a rewarding and helpful donation to both giver and receiver, in that transportation is provided to persons or groups that are in need, and cannot provide for themselves. Automobile charity organizations offer special opportunities for those interested in donating used cars, trucks, SUVs, vans and other vehicles to groups that in turn, use the vehicles to assist the needy. Giving an auto to a philanthropic group can assist many non-profit agencies in providing help to special needs groups such as the blind, handicapped, or deaf. Car nonprofit organizations also assist victims of national disasters and victims of domestic abuse. There are many groups that will accept an auto in order to raise money or provide transportation to someone in need.
If someone has a used car that he is not using or is thinking about trading in for another car, it would be more generous to consider donating that auto to a nonprofit instead. The owner can make a difference in someone's life just by offering an old car to him. Most automobile charity organizations will accept almost any car or vehicle, even those that do not run. It is quick and easy to donate a car to help someone in need through many online car nonprofit groups. Online forms are available and it only takes a few minutes to fill out the form to donate an automobile to charity.
Most online forms request the make, model and condition of the car as well as the status of the title. Even if a person does not have possession of the title, many automobile charity organizations will work something out in order to accept the car. If accepted, the car donation will be picked up within a few days of contact. The car one gives away as an automobile to charity will be towed by a bonded, licensed and insured towing company. Car nonprofit groups pay for pick up and towing of the car to their depository. The person donating will not be charged any fees at all for donating a car to help someone in need.
After a donation of an automobile to charity, car donation groups generally auction off the car for money to be used for their projects. Sometimes, an automobile charity donation will be used to provide someone in need personal transportation to work, under certain guidelines formulated by the particular organization. In any case, if a person donates a car to help someone in need, he can be assured that his donation will be used for the particular cause that is specified by the car nonprofit organization. "But I will hope continually and will yet praise thee more and more." (Psalm 71:14)
