A law firm line of credit can be beneficial to law firms that have extended cases, such as trial cases that accumulate large expenses during the trial period. A law practice line of credit is completely ethical and allows attorneys and their firms to operate and pay expenses without cash out of pocket or without extending their own resources. There are many different commercial lenders that will extend an account to approved firms, and ways to obtain this funding can be researched and found online through the Internet. This can easily be managed with most commercial lender's special accounting programs and experts in legal financing. Basically, this type of financing means using someone else's money, much like other loans. There are certain times when this is a good financial business decision to make.
With this type of credit line, the lending company will determine an amount for the established line based on the firms case history. There are legal groups that engage in lengthy legal work, requiring large expenses upfront. The law practice line of credit allows these firms to draw from the established account during trial seasons. Some of the lending agencies forwarding the law firm line of credit to groups will bill the firms on a monthly basis for the interest amount of the loan only. Once a trial case is coming to a close, the lending agency will forward documents listing the costs of the loan and these costs can be included in the settlement case sheet. This funding allows for firms to be completely reimbursed for interest and any other charges incurred by the attorney or firm.
Attorneys can find lending agencies advertising a law firm line of credit online through the Internet. Many traditional lending agencies have a law practice line of credit for firms that meet financial requirements. There are also lenders that specialize in working with large legal groups and cases. Attorneys and financial managers can research the many different options for an account online, and evaluate the different lending agencies' programs.
When looking into a law practice line of credit, attorneys can take the opportunity to be thankful to God for the business opportunities that He has provided. The Bible teaches that people are to acknowledge His sovereignty in all areas of life. "Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil." (Proverbs 16:5-6)
