Italy Travel

When planning an Italy travel vacation, vacationers may want to conduct research, finding the best time of year to experience specific adventures. The best recommended time for sightseeing is March through May or September through November. The best time for a stay at a beach resort is June through September. Those who love the sport of skiing will enjoy this country in the months of January through March. The least favorable time plan an Italian trip is during December through February. It can be bitterly cold in the Northern Alps.

Professional travel agents suggest booking an Italian trip for at least 2 full weeks. This will give ample time to travel around Rome and to see other cities such as Florence, Venice, and Sienna. This country is a predominantly a Catholic nation and holds religious events throughout the year. Some of the main religious events are centered around Christmas and Easter. In February of every year, Carnivale (Carnival) is celebrated. In Venice, the Carnivale exhibits many extraordinary costumes and there is an electric tourist atmosphere. If Carnivale authenticity is appealing, then Verona is the place an Italy travel agent would recommend.

Those who have traveled Italy say it hosts the richest collection of ancient buildings, art and culture in Europe. Rome is comprised of more tourist sites than any other city in the world. With varied landscapes, superb food and drink (moderately priced), a relaxed hospitable atmosphere, and a plethora of local culture. Italy travel holds exciting promise. Italy is also one of Europe's finest skiing destinations for downhill and cross country skiing. In the summer, hiking and mountain biking on those same ski slopes are offered. Seeing this country in all seasons will open eyes to God's wonderful creative nature. "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." (Psalm 19:1)

Those headed to this country will want to be aware of a few precautions. There is heavy traffic and pollution in the larger cities. Rome, Naples, and Palermo have a reputation for having many active pickpocket thieves. The weather is extremely hot in the South, and there are large numbers of tourists in the summer. The Italian mainland has a lack of big beautiful beaches, which makes the smaller island beaches very crowded. Putting together a plan of action before planning an Italy travel vacation will ensure tourists get the most enjoyment for the time and money.
