Don't Expect to Stay With Your Current Weight Loss Plan

A lot of people are just like you. They are overweight and simply tired of trying exercise and diet programs that ultimately never work. Everything starts out alright, but after a while it just gets too hard. Then you feel guilty that you have failed once again.

Are you one of these people? Are you curious as to why you aren't able to stick with your weight loss plan? You are not alone, many other people feel this way. Many factors can explain why you are not able to stick to your weight plan. I hope this article will help you do just that.

You program may have been a bad program that resulted in failure. Maintaining an extreme diet will fail on you because it is too difficult to maintain. Eating specific fruits or performing weird exercises or workouts for long periods of time is eventually not sustainable. If your looking to stay slim, you've got to pick a routine that you can maintain consistently for the long-term.

A key reason why most people aren't able to stick to their program is because they have a lack of support. Friends and relative don't back you up, and you cave to their temptation for one bite of dessert. Your friends could have even made fun of you for thinking about working out! No matter what, you need to have support. A weight loss group or personal trainer will be sure to motivate you.

A third reason could be that you were dieting without exercise, or exercising without eating right. You didn't see results, and so you quit. The two need to go hand in hand for a sensible workout program that is actually going to help you drop pounds. Any plan you choose must include both diet and exercise.

It could also be that you didn't give the program enough of a chance to work. Changes in your body take time. It may take several weeks to see the numbers on the scale change very much. Your body is very set in its ways and you have to stick with a diet and exercise program that is going to force it to change and adapt. Find a good program and be patient, and you will see results.

A final reason why you cannot stick to your weight loss program is that perhaps your commitment was a little lacking. You can't start a whole new exercise and diet plan halfheartedly. You need to be totally committed. Otherwise, you will find ways to "cheat" on your diet, take "days off" from exercise, and look the other way when the numbers on the scale keep going up instead of down. You need to tackle this problem head on and vow that you are going to stick with it this time. You are forgiven for all past failures and today is but a new day to begin anew.

Ironically, the secret to weight loss is not actually a secret to anyone. We have always know what it is: a healthy diet and exercise are what will help us lose weight. There is no miracle way to get that perfect body. There is absolutely no "instant fat loss" cure. Pick a healthy workout that you enjoy and will maintain. Keep realistic goals and your diet will have you thin in no time.
