DVD Shrink is a software used to copy DVDs. It is quite useful and provides a lot of benefits. The software allows you to copy even those DVDs, which are larger than the usual 4.7 GB by shrinking them and fitting to the disk of that size (4.7 GB). This software allows the preparation of a backup copy of a commercial DVD. Let us now be a bit elaborate on the functions of the DVD Shrink for Windows.

There is the system to rip your DVD to your hard drive and a folder will be created with the name of your DVD. There will be a 'Video_TS' folder in it. The DVD Shrink for Windows that was ripped to the hard drive needs to be opened up. The 'Open Files' button has to be clicked and the 'Video_TS' folder has to be browsed.

If these have been placed on your desktop, the folder 'My Mac Desktop' in the file browser can be used for easy access. The hard drive displays a few different ways in your browser. To find the name of your disc, if you have stored it in some external disc, you would need to use the '/' and 'volumes' options. For some Mac Users, this is very perplexing. When the DVD Shrink for windows is opened, there can be the change to a bunch of settings.

When you click the backup button you will find a couple of options to save your work. You can save the work as a disk image which can be burned later on to a DVD Shrink for Windows. Or, you may choose any other option but now you have an operational edition of the disc you started out with in the first place. The only difference is that it is on a smaller, regular DVD Shrink for Windows now. If you want to know how to burn a disc image using disk utility toy, you need to open disk utility and open an image from the 'File' menu. After that is done, select the image in the left hand pane and click on 'burn'.
