The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development is a Cabinet department of the U.S. federal government. This enabled those whose schedule or transportation needs would not allow them to attend regular classes to complete the program and qualify for applying for the home purchase grants. Those who wish to apply for home purchase grants should be sure that the class they wish to attend is recognized by HUD as an approved organization.
