Iridology Education

An iridology education is offered by many holistic and natural medicine schools that train the student in the lifestyle, philosophy, diagnosis, and treatment for a variety of ailments as well as preventive theories. This certificate is offered to students through some accredited universities, and many schools here and abroad dedicate their studies specifically giving out a iridology degree. Rooted in some forms of new age philosophy and holistic self-healing ideas, these careers educate the student in the study of the eye through color, structure, and patterns of the iris. A comprehensive study of the eye is claimed to yield information regarding the state of the body, mind, and spirit.

This course pathway instructs the student in how to analyze the iris of the eye to determine health problems, emotional problems, and spiritual problems that hinder the patient from achieving whole health. An iridology education offers aspects of eastern mysticism, such as the belief in karma as a basis for philosophy. This career path promotes an understanding of the unique patterns in an individual's iris and the theories of body association to each 'circle of life' viewed in the iris as fundamental to treating the ailing patient. With the surge of alternative health trends, an iridology degree is available at accredited universities and at other health institutions. A Doctor of Natural Medicine degree is offered by some schools and includes the study of iridology as well as other healing arts and theories. An iridology education can also be earned through schools that offer fast track courses leading to a certificate qualifying them to practice iridology. The different degree and certificate processes are not equally governed by a common agency, therefore a certified person who decides to practice this can claim as much competency as an accredited university graduate of a Doctor of Natural Medicine(ND). Many of the practices and teaching of this course of study contradict the teachings of the Bible. The Bible says, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God" (Matthew 6:33). God is a jealous God, and He will not share His glory or His pre-emenience with anyone or anything.
