Panic Attack Symptoms

Panic attack symptoms are oftentimes disregarded, but can lead to serious health problems when untreated. The normal feeling may be explained as a rapid heartbeat and loss of control, but there are many more symptoms that frequently go unnoticed or misdiagnosed. Unknown, but frequently occurring characteristics include sweating, shaking, feeling light-headed, depersonalization, chills, skin blotches, and the need to urinate frequently. These symptoms could be related to a variety of medical problems, but a pattern may indicate the diagnosis and help to determine what causes panic attacks. Talking with a doctor about any abnormalities may lead to blood testing or other testing that will rule out controllable problems through medication or other means of treatment.

Unmanaged problems lead to worsened problems including irreversible problems such as kidney disease, stomach ulcers, and heart disease. This happens due to repetitive occurrences of the same panic attack symptoms. Likewise, unseen effects can cause irreversible problems even with reoccurring characteristics that are not similar. A number of reasons can explain what causes panic attacks, but the general theme is anything that is a stressor to a particular person. There are good stresses and bad stresses that make up a person's life, so these feelings are not always a bad thing, but the reoccurrence of certain events may lead to weakening systems therefore opening the door for disease and illness, which may lead to infection. Muscle pain particularly in the neck and shoulders is common for sufferers to experience. The inability to breathe and unexplained headaches are symptoms which may lead to blurred vision and pains in the chest. Stress at work, home, and with self-image are some of what causes panic attacks.

Treatment is available in many forms including massage, medication, rescheduling, prioritizing, imagery, and positive thinking. There are many techniques used in massage including deep tissue massage, neck and shoulder massage, heated stone, and shiatsu. Speaking with a professional will help determine the right type of massage for a particular body and the tension that person feels. A medical doctor may prescribe medication to calm a person thus eliminating the breeding ground for panic attack symptoms. These medications may have adverse effects, which may be worse than the symptoms themselves. Careful research on any drugs taken to control feelings of anxiety will ensure the best success. These effects are not limited to increasing symptoms. They also include liver damage, kidney damage, stomach ulcers, heart disease, and damage to the immune system. Understanding the risks before taking any drug is imperative to remaining confident about treatment options especially concerning what causes panic attacks. If the cause is something related to the way a person is able to comprehend data, then using a prescription that may hinder mental function should not be used. Likewise, treatment options for this specific situation should concentrate on heightening mental functioning.

Sometimes the cure or best management tool is simply living a healthy lifestyle. A person who smokes, drinks caffeinated beverages, and does not exercise is at a much higher risk of having panic attack symptoms than someone who is completely opposite or at least minimizes their involvement in negative lifestyle practices. Likewise, anyone can make improvements on their lifestyle choices including the consumption of only organic foods, drinking only the finest filtered water, avoiding environmental toxins to the extreme of moving their residence, and creating time every day for meditation. Creating a morning routine that includes a slower pace with time for pampering will dramatically change the way a person acts toward others as well as their efficiency as a human being. In addition, a person should find a place in the house where total peace can be found. This may be in the bedroom, garden, or main living room. Each person will find a special place that is unique to the need at hand. This place should be very comfortable and include books, music, blankets; whatever will make a person feel secure and comfortable without the worry of any stress. This technique creates a therapy available any time that person is in their house. Likewise, other family members should respect that area as a sacred place and act accordingly. "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;" (Ephesians 6:8)

Change in diet and exercise routine is key to managing stressful situations. Careful management of panic attack symptoms through natural methods can minimize or eliminate the need for drugs and other therapy. Eliminating these methods before a professional has deemed it safe could be devastating and cause worse effects. When a person evaluates what causes panic attacks in their life a journal should be kept in order to completely diagnose the problem. Obvious, more superficial reasons may come to minds readily, but other reasons may attribute for reoccurrences or extreme situations. Understanding the data collected may be difficult, so sharing with a professional is advisable in order to get the most comprehensive answer possible. Even then, the person affected truly is the best source of information; so further information should be collected in order to ensure proper treatment is being administered. Some time of trial and error may be necessary in order to pinpoint the best treatment, so patience and perseverance is required. If a doctor is not meshing right with the patient, a different doctor should be sought for optimal results. While all doctors have a little bit different way of treating a patient, the flexibility and confidence of knowledge creates the best doctor patient relationship.
