TV Wall Mounts

The installation of plasma TV wall mounts once struck fear in most new owners of the technologically advanced televisions. But with improved methods and instructions, industry experts are finding that new owners are becoming more comfortable with attaching the mounts to their walls themselves instead of hiring installation professionals to do the job for them. Of course, it's not necessary to hang up the television as if it were a giant piece of artwork. Though, for some people, the acquisition of such a large television is meant to be the focal point of the room, an object designed to be noticed and to impress others, for others the large screen provides a fun viewing experience for popular DVDs, major sporting events, and even home filming endeavors. When family and friends gather to watch something together, having such a large screen makes viewing easier for larger groups. The dedicated home theater can be a fun and meaningful way to show hospitality to others. Sometimes the walls in a room won't be suitable for hanging a large screen. These specialized televisions almost always come with matching plasma tv stands that attach to the bottom of the sets. The televisions can also be hung from the ceiling or placed on specially constructed carts. The chosen option will depend on personal preference and the intended use of the television.

Don't be confused. When industry experts or entertainment equipment salespeople talk about plasma TV stands, they are not referring to a type of table to place the set upon. They are referring to a device made to the manufacturer's specifications for each model. The stand may be interchangeable between models, but not necessarily. The television fits onto the stand which is designed to balance the size and weight of the screen. With the attached stand, the television can be placed on a table, set into an entertainment unit, or situated inside a specially designed cabinet. Many furniture options are available that will fit the tastes and decor styles of a variety of consumers. As the popularity of these types of viewing options increase and become more affordable, furniture designers and manufacturers are creating even more tables, entertainment units, and cabinetry for consumers to choose from. Even so, plasma TV wall mounts are still the least expensive option for showcasing the screens and, according to some industry experts, the most common type of installation.

Plasma televisions, whether wall-mounted or attached to plasma TV stands, have increased in popularity because of the detailed images that appear on the screens. The quality is vastly superior to regular old televisions. Though still expensive, they are becoming more affordable and many consumers believe that the quality is worth the expense. The quality of the image is due to phosphor cells which are very small. Each pixel on the screen contains a red, green, and blue phosphor cell. Through technology involving either neon or xenon gas and electrical currents, the pixels combine to create a sharp, crisp image that is just incredible even with the large size of the screen. One disadvantage of the plasma screens, however, is that the pixels can be damaged. Crushed pixels no longer work properly and will make that area of the screen impossible to view. The screens need to be handled with care, especially when moving them or mounting them. Consumers also need to look at related costs beyond the initial price of the television set. Decisions will need to be made on the television's placement. Will new furniture need to be purchased or will the screen be mounted on the wall? Will the new owner take care of the installation or will the services of a professional need to be contracted? What about buying an extended service warranty? This Scriptural principle may need to be considered when thinking about these kinds of decisions: "For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?" (Luke 14:28). Prospective owners should sit down and see how a new plasma television fits into their current budget before going on a spending spree.

Some homeowners want to put the large screens above the mantel of fireplaces or to situate them for easy viewing while lying on a bed. When the television will be placed at a higher level than the typical sitting-on-the-couch eye-level, plasma TV wall mounts that provide a tilt are great options. Swivel arms, also known as articulating arms, support the screen while allowing a tilt of about fifteen to twenty degrees. Most homeowners will not be interested in using carts to hold their media components, but they are great options for business purposes. For example, a company's booth at an industry trade show equipped with a plasma television is bound to draw in visitors and, hopefully, increased customers or clients. The carts usually provide additional shelves for such media components as DVD players, speakers, or laptops. Such carts can also be helpful for educational and training purposes whether in public schools or corporate classrooms.

Many restaurants cater to customers who go out to eat and watch weekly sports events on several televisions installed way up high so that customers can see the featured event from almost any table. Ceiling mounts, often used in connection with plasma TV wall mounts, are great installation methods for these kinds restaurants. Airports are another popular venue for hanging large television screens from the ceiling. The televisions give bored travelers something to do while they're waiting to board their planes. According to the industry, the usual tilting standard for ceiling mounts is twenty-four to forty-three degrees. However, the television is installed, freestanding with the use of plasma TV stands or placed in a cart, hung up with plasma TV wall mounts or ceiling tilt mounts, the large images will provide hours of viewing enjoyment for years to come.
