A Halloween invitation is usually covered in black and orange with frightful images that make people want to attend the function. These holiday invitations strive to be scarier and scarier each year. If someone is throwing a huge party, then he or she will want their Halloween invitations to represent that adequately. This is a holiday is a celebration that started back in the 800's but added skulls, witches, and black cats, around the middle ages. Many of the Halloween traditions practiced today came about a long time ago.
Choosing the right invitations seems like such a minor part of hosting an October 31st celebration, but actually brings to light the popularity of this particular holiday. A Halloween invitation can say everything about the holiday. It can represent a party or a carnival. However, many people get Halloween invitations planning to go have a good time and end up getting scared out of their wits. Those who respond to party invites will find that they have gotten themselves into a situation that may be different then they expected. Since many parties have become so much more terrifying, accepting an invitation may give the guest more than the guest bargained more. Children and adults alike need to be aware of what type of things can go on at a party dedicated to the night many evil cults recognize. Halloween invitations bring to the surface what many people do not realize. With the down slide of our culture, attending one of these parties can actually be a dangerous decision. Violence has erupted at parties where people have accepted a Halloween invitation. People tend to act differently at parties that promote evil because the holiday is meant for evil spirit worship. "Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah." (2 Chronicles 34:24)
Many believe that the thrill associated with being frightened is an emotion that is just fun, and that there is nothing wrong with haunted houses, or make believe violence. But, should we as Christians even be accepting Halloween invitations? Isn't it important to reject such a holiday? People use this holiday as an excuse to be different than they truly are. It is of incredible importance to keep in the knowledge that this is not a holiday that should be celebrated. Going to a party with a goulish theme supports this holiday. "And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding." (Job 28:28)
